My name is Jennifer Schmidt and thank you so much for taking a look at what I have either made or chosen for my little web-based shop. Making our homes and lives more beautiful, simple and earth friendly has always been close to my heart. I am happy and grateful to share with others.

When I was nine years old, my grandmother taught me to sew during the summer at her rural Indiana home. As my first sewing project for 4H, I made my young self a lemon yellow linen skirt suit… because isn’t that what every 5th grader needs! My sweet grandmothers were skilled at sewing and inspirational to me. It took a lot of years for me to restart on my little sewing machine - a basic Kenmore my mom purchased for me in my early 20s. When I was 30, pregnant with my first child and feeling inspired my best friend (who is an amazing designer and maker), I started sewing again - and I’ve been going back every since.

In my ‘regular career’, I am a licensed clinical counselor and I help others to heal and practice healthy living. To me, the arts and beautifying our lives in simple meaningful ways creates more enjoyment and connection to living mindfully.
